About Us
History:
Columbus Metal Industries began its tradition of excellence
by opening it first facility in 1960. The first
location was near the Highway 81 viaduct in
Columbus, Nebraska. In 1971 Columbus Metal
Industries moved to its
current location approximately 3 miles east of
Columbus on a 25 acre tract of land.
The
additional space allowed Columbus Metal
Industries to grow in its
ability to recycle and process both ferrous and
non-ferrous scrap metal. This growth included a
larger fleet of trucks, additional space for
processing, and state of the art equipment to
meet the recycling demands for both suppliers
and consumers. In 2001 Columbus Metal Industries expanded operations
with installation of the Shredder, which gives
us efficient processing capabilities.
 Columbus
Metal Industries
acquired the
Triangle Metals yard in Kearney, NE
in 2007. The second yard provides another
convenient location in Nebraska for our
suppliers to sell their scrap metal.
What we do:
Columbus Metal Industries Industries
buys scrap
throughout the state of Nebraska and bordering
states. Our suppliers include large
manufacturing plants, small businesses, local
dealers, farmers and individuals who have metal
to recycle. We then process the recyclable metal
using many different methods, one of which
includes the Shredder. The Shredder allows us to
process ferrous metal efficiently. This
efficient processing allows us to maximize the
dollar return to our suppliers. The processed
material is sold to many different consumers
throughout the United States.

We provide reputable customer service and are
proud to offer a safe, well maintained and
customer friendly facility. Some of our
additional services include: industrial
transportation, materials analysis with the
spectrometer, and tours of your manufacturing
facility to address your metal recycling needs.
